Why Twitter froze my twitter name & account.

Billing problems

In a way, this lady is lucky: she gets a live person, even if the database is flawed. The rest of us have to sit on the phone for hours now, talking to someone who is not proficient in English OR in solving any problem. And having to repeat the problem, many times.

Twitter censors women

Until, my favorite part, I get to complain about them on social media – specifically, Twitter. 🙂 And here is where I tell you that my love affair with Twitter is OVER. You know how Twitter is constantly throwing new people into your feed, that you don’t follow and have no interest in? Well, suddenly up pops a tweet from @rickygervais. Know who he is, not interested.

His tweet concerned animal abusers. The worst, right? You know what he called them? He called them “c***s.” I hate that word so much – the most sexist word in English. I, along with dozens of others (I lost count) called him out on his use of that pejorative in comments.

WARNING: Crude language below.

Here is what I tweeted:

@rickygervais And you are an asshole dumbass sexist dick. Why did you use a feminine expletive to describe them??? #sexist #vulgar #plain #uneducated

Although I was angry that his tweet had even been in my feed, since he is NOT someone I follow, and that Twitter does nothing about sexism, I didn’t think much about it and the next day logged on. Or tried to. Twitter locked my account! And they said I would not be able to use it until I removed my tweet!!!

Twitter, who prides themselves on being the wild wild west of the internet, apparently doesn’t like the “d***” word, but loves the hateful “c” one! AND instead of deleting it themselves – thereby showing how controlling, intolerant, and biased they are, wanted ME to remove it. And admit guilt. Total suppression and blackmail.

Not only that, they will replace my tweet with a notice that it was removed (by them) because it violated Twitter Rules!!! Twitter, you corporate pig! (Twitter is now mainstream, in the NYSE, but stock falling because they kicked out Trump. No freedom, no independence, no free will on Twitter – just money.)

Of course, no way will I take it down. I treasure my free speech. First Amendment says I have the right to speak out, and I did. I did nothing wrong, and I won’t say I did.

Twitter did say I could appeal my frozen account. So I did, 3 times. No reply. My account is still locked, over 18 months later. My handle there is @cartooness. It’s my business account, so they have also shut down my business social media. (My account has many more thousands of views than followers!)

Twitter: the Big Brother of the internet.

Here’s how to buy this or any Business cartoon for powerpoint, advertising, newsletters, blogs, textbooks, etc.

My most recent cartoon up on Psychology Today is about the Worst Restaurant in the World – or approach/avoidance, if you’re into that cycle.
