Maybe not a First World Problem…except to people suffering with OCD
This cartoon pointing to OCD-Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder- was a popular relationship cartoon in my Psychology Today blog! I do love doing cartoons about dating and relationships, and when there’s food involved, even better…
How to Define OCD
I called my Psychcentral column on this subject, How Not to Sabotage a First Date. Obviously, the man’s request to the waitress “touches” on OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.) I had a good friend with this mindset, and I found it rather endearing – or at least funny– when she would recheck locked doors or check the spigots every time she left the house.
But I think OCD can be rather common, or sometimes even common sense. Just yesterday my neighbor asked me to check to see if her door was locked, even though she had locked it a few minutes ago. She’s a pediatrics nurse. (It was locked.)

This OCD cartoon is part of my weekly cartoon feature, Daily Special. Here’s how to get new restaurant cartoons delivered to you each week! And how to buy restaurant and food cartoons for restaurant newsletters, websites, hospitality magazines, and restaurant trade journals.
There’s a quiz here on OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and possibly this man has that. On the other hand, he just may not like stews or casseroles.

And check out my first book (chocolate) and my second book (dating)! (This cartoon is in that book.)
