Tom LaBonge says the shoeless people are more important than Griffith Park.
There were tv crews and everything at the meeting on arsonists tonight. Carolyn Ramsay, of Councilman LaBonge’s office, was at the door handing out important pieces of paper. I reached for one, and she said the agenda was on the seats. There weren’t any seats left, so I held my hand out to her again, and when I took one of the important pieces of paper, she took it back from me and said, “If you don’t mind, please just take one of the papers on the seats. My Councilman screamed at me.
Okay, I think I can talk about it now. This was soon after the Griffith ParkĀ fire in 2007. You might have heard about it: the one that burned 800 acres, 25% of the park, and almost burned many Los Feliz homes? Thousands of trees and animals and birds died. The only other “dinner” I’ve been to there was the most gosh-awful hamburgers, lettuce, ketchup and elementary school cake that I’ve had in years, so I arrived about an hour late this time. Too…

And I don’t want to get all up in your face about this, but I think I could call myself an established artist, since millions of people see my cartoons every month, I have a couple of books out, I’ve been in galleries, etc. I have an interesting collection of artwork, too! So here’s my idea: combine Griffith Park and my artwork. I could rent a space in the park, put all my art up for people to enjoy, and charge people oh, like $9 a pop to come in and see my work. I’m thinking that the City…
