I got called a community journalist! Joy!
David Markland, who was not a happy camper in my comments here, turns out to be a writer for Blogging LA. (That’s the trouble with blogs; they keep you on your toes!) He recently wrote on Blogging LA that:
After Donna Barstow received a whooping for saying that the LAFD sucks, she didn’t apologize. Instead, she dug in her heels, picked up the phone, and became a community journalist.
Hmm, a whooping….is that what they’re calling it now? But anyway, I think he’s saying something nice about me!
He also mentions two other bloggers who are writing about After the Fire: Thunderbolt Fan, writing on LA Voice, and Lonewacko. Great to know that I we are not alone. Both of them write on why Griffith Park should be reopened right now. Lonewacko calls Councilman Tom LaBonge an idiot. I prefer to show by example. But anyway, I’m the only one who uses my real name, so I get extra credit and this reference goes straight to Compliment Corner.

You do get extra credit for using your name. Those who think it’s “cute” to create an alias for their blogging contributions are stuck in the last century and perhaps lack the credibility to not only contribute, but to learn from the process.
