Dramatic day after the rain.

Winter began in Silver Lake on December 10, the first day I saw snow on this mountain. Mt Baldy? Someplace where people ski. I can only see this mountain a couple of months a year, because of smog in Glendale and the inland. (Smog in Glendale? Really?)

snow in Los Angeles
I keep wanting to learn how to snowshoe. I’d go there.

Snow touches this unknown mountain today.

I took this one today, new snow on a mountain 3 or 4 ranges away. I can see this mountain only a few days a year. Is it Mt. Wilson?

For the first three years I lived here, I thought that the white building with a cross was a church. I felt a little bit blessed. Then I found out it is part of Forest Lawn, and I felt a little bit the opposite. It’s a direct view from my kitchen window, after all. (Only it’s not the real Forest Lawn next to Griffith Park, as I visited that one, unfortunately, last year for the first time.) I don’t know why they split up a cemetery into two pieces.

A nice sunset over Silver Lake and downtown.

Griffith Park is the 2nd biggest park in the US, and I'm just the person to investigate it! I've lived here for over 25 years. I was part of the PROS Committee in Griffith Park Neighborhood Council and am on the Housing & Tenants Rights Committee in the Silver Lake NC. I'm in the LA Press Club, and you can find some of my articles in the LA Weekly and the Los Feliz Ledger. I'm a cartoonist for Parade Magazine, The New Yorker, LA Times, Slate, & most major media. Questions and contacts welcome.
