Picnic ants are a cartoon cliche
But hey, don’t insects deserve some cartoons, too? They’re cute, if you don’t have them in places you don’t want them. I’m pretty fascinated with the social orders of ants, personally.
What you need to know about ants
Ant farms are one way to study them, but nothing wrong with observing those in your house!
The ones you find outside or in your house (!) are all female workers, and I love the way they help their fellow sisters in time of need. They either exchange info to do their work (when they stop to wave and have coffee) or leaving scent trails, or exploring, and even better, stopping to try to help injured ones, or burying their dead. 🙁
Organic, shmorganic food.
In this cartoon, i’m making fun of so many people’s refusal to eat food that’s not organic. My current roommate is both vegan AND no waste, so that’s a lot to watch out for. My compromise: bringing home organic ice cream… for me. Win, win. And I know she’ll never eat my ice cream. 🙂
I added Jif peanut butter, because, and here’s a good tip if you do NOT love ants: ants love protein even more than sugar! Nuts, watch out!
Here’s how to buy this or any Animal cartoon for powerpoint, magazines, advertising, newsletters, blogs, textbooks, Chicken Soup books, etc, or you can just use the Paypal form below.
