Do you have the fat gene?

Don’t let the TV talk fresh to you

Nothing like breaking the 4th wall in the news broadcast! The newscaster talks to the audience, just as I talk to you. 🙂

I would never get too personal here, of course. For instance, wondering if I have any fat genes myself. That’s for me to know, and you to probably not find out.

UPDATE on Fat Gene, Panx1.

Ha ha, when I first wrote the cartoon, there was no such fat gene, but since then, I see a study that suggests the absence of a gene, Panx1, leads to significant weight gain.

Mice fed both normal and high-fat diets had significantly greater total fat mass compared to mice with the gene for Panx1.

Not much you can do about it, of course, besides the usual regimens of diet and exercise. And the lady in the cartoon isn’t that fat. She probably has it.

Here’s how to buy this or any cartoon about Television for powerpoint, textbooks, newsletters, blogs, Chicken Soup books, etc. My TV Cartoons have been published in a variety of venues. I also review TV shows here.
