Jerry Brown at the beach with union beach bunny.

someone is touching gov jerry brown cartoon at the beach
gov brown loves unions & thumbs his nose at gov walker in Wisconsin

Remember Jerry Brown, Governor of California?

He so beats Gavin Newsom!!

This opinion cartoon combines the Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker ,recall with our own Governor, Jerry Brown.  And there’s a union California beach bunny, to accompany  Jerry Brown’s determination to ride this wave all the way to the end! No surprise, her CTA (California Teachers Association) is also part of the game.

Walker won the recall, by the way. From NPR:

Walker became a hero to some who saw public unions as a special interest that feed mercilessly off taxpayers and a foe to those who thought he was dismantling the fabric that gave workers a decent life and the prospect of a happy retirement.

Actually, he won by such a huge margin, it was kind of scary. Yes, I’m a Libertarian (and I did this cartoon for a Libertarian think tank in California.) But there are some instances where Unions are essential: for working conditions, for one, so we don’t revert back to slave shops and factory accidents and fatalities.

From my weekly Libertarian cartoon feature on California news & politics. Try out this California cartoon for powerpoint, law journals, newsletters, blogs, books, etc. Details here.
